Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: [DATE OF PUBLICATION]
This policy covers StarDM subscriptions bought in the app or at trystardm.com. StarDM is run by Krishan Singhal, sole proprietor, trading as "StarDM", registered address SCO 113, New Grain Market, Shahbad, Haryana 136135.
1. Cancelling (unsubscribing)
- You can unsubscribe at any time: Profile → My subscriptions → Manage → Unsubscribe. It takes two taps.
- Your access continues to the end of the week you've already paid for. After that, the chat with that creator locks and no more renewals are charged.
- There's no separate auto-renew switch: unsubscribing is how you stop renewals.
- You can also revoke your UPI AutoPay or card mandate from your UPI or bank app. That stops all future debits on it, for every creator subscription it covers.
- Google Play: if you paid through Google Play, you can also cancel from Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
2. Upgrades and downgrades
- Basic → Pro is immediate. You pay only the prorated difference for the days left in the current week.
- Pro → Basic takes effect at your next renewal. There's no refund for the rest of the current Pro week; you keep Pro until then.
3. When we refund
| Situation | Refund |
|---|---|
| A creator deletes their profile | Automatic refund of your unused days (price × unused days ÷ 7) to your original payment method. You don't need to ask |
| Billing error or duplicate charge (for example you were charged twice, or charged after unsubscribing) | Full refund of the wrong amount, within 5–7 working days of us confirming it |
| Where Indian law requires a refund (for example under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019) | As the law requires |
| Creator withdraws AI-voice consent while you're on Pro | prorated refund of the Pro-minus-Basic difference for unused days; you keep Basic |
4. When we don't refund
Apart from the cases above, we don't refund partial weeks, for example if you unsubscribe mid-week, stop using the app, delete your account, or use up the trial. Fair-use measures (slowed or paused replies because of misuse) don't create a refund right unless the law requires one.
5. Failed renewals
If a renewal fails, we retry for up to 3 days and you keep access during that time. If all retries fail, the subscription ends. Nothing is owed for the retry days.
6. How to ask for a refund
Email support@trystardm.com (placeholder) from the app (Profile → Help) or write to us with:
- the phone number on your account,
- the creator and date of the charge,
- the payment reference from your UPI or bank app, if you have it.
We acknowledge within 24 hours. If you're unhappy with our answer, contact the Grievance Officer (see Support).
7. How refunds are paid
- Razorpay (UPI or card): to the original payment method, within 5–7 working days of approval. Your bank may take a little longer to show it.
- Google Play: refunds for Play purchases are made through Google Play. Google's own refund policy may also apply.
- We don't refund in cash or to a different account.
8. Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback; we can usually sort it out faster. If a chargeback is raised, we may pause the subscription involved while it's resolved.
