Community Guidelines

StarDM is a friendly, brand-safe place to chat with AI avatars of real creators, made with them. It is not a dating app and has no adult content. These guidelines apply to everyone: fans and creators. They form part of our Terms, and we publish them as the IT Rules, 2021 require.

Remember who you're talking to

• You're chatting with an AI avatar. The creator doesn't read your messages or hear your calls.
• The avatar's voice in calls and voice notes is AI voice, made with the creator's consent.
• Don't present avatar replies or AI voice as the real creator's words, and don't use them to impersonate anyone.

Not allowed

For everyone's safety

• Anyone under 18. StarDM is adults-only.
• Sexual content: sexual messages, sexual roleplay, nudity, sexual photos or voice notes, or pushing the avatar toward any of these.
• Anything involving minors in a sexual or exploitative way. We report this to the authorities.
• Intimate images of anyone shared without consent, and any fake or altered intimate images.
• Threats, violence, harassment or hate towards a creator, another person, or any group (including on the basis of religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability or origin).
• Stalking or locating a creator: trying to find out where they live, where they are, or how to contact them privately.
• Self-harm encouragement. If you're struggling, the avatar will point you to help. You can call Tele-MANAS on 14416 or 1-800-891-4416 (free, 24×7).

For honesty and fairness

• Impersonation: pretending to be a creator, StarDM staff, or someone else.
• Sharing other people's personal data (phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers, photos) without permission.
• Spam, bots and automation: scripts, auto-senders, copy-pasted floods, or anything meant to burn through the service.
• Breaking or tricking the AI: jailbreaks, prompt injection, trying to extract the system instructions or persona, or making the avatar claim to be human.
• Scams, fraud, illegal goods or services, gambling or betting promotion.
• Content that's illegal in India, or that infringes someone's copyright or trademark.

For creators

• Don't upload photos you don't have rights to, photos of minors, or sexual photos.
• Don't tell fans that you personally read or write the chats.
• Don't use your profile to steer fans to off-platform paid chats.

What the avatar won't do

To keep things safe, every avatar is built so it won't:

• flirt beyond friendly warmth, or engage in sexual talk;
• promise to meet you, video call outside the app, or share phone numbers or social handles;
• give financial, medical or legal advice beyond general support;
• claim to be human or to be the creator;
• invent private facts about the creator.

Reporting and blocking

• Report any avatar message: long-press it → Report → choose offensive, sexual, harmful, wrong info or other. You don't have to leave the app.
• Block a creator's avatar: long-press → Block. You'll stop seeing them and stop getting notifications.
• Report anything else (including impersonation or intimate images) to our Grievance Officer: see Support. Impersonation and intimate-image complaints are acted on within 2 hours.

What happens if guidelines are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may: withhold a message or reply, slow or pause the service, suspend the account, close it permanently, and, where required or where someone is at risk, report it to law enforcement. Automatic action is limited; serious steps are reviewed by a person. You can contest a decision through the Grievance Officer.
